I suppose it was only a matter of time before the world of Garena Free Fire was plunged into mayhem by the arrival of the apocalypse. With the end of the world comes a new map to explore, Kalahari, which is now confirmed to be a permanent fixture.

Your long-term survival will depend on your shooting and looting skills, as well as your ability to adapt to the harsh environment and many desperate combatants out in the wild. Thankfully, you’ll have a fresh skin to tackle the apocalypse in style. It’s called Borderlands, and you can get a first look at it in the pic below.

The new Kalahari map is said to be more expansive and deadly than its earlier version, boasting a rundown, brutal aesthetic. It’ll be available from February 28th.

On top of that, the whole game has been draped in a post-apocalyptic theme that you’ll first notice on spawn island, which now features excessive debris, a collapsed stage, and a severely damaged big screen.

As bleak as things might first appear, we all know that life in the post-apocalypse always throws up plenty of neat loot and rewards to collect. You can pre-register for the event up until tomorrow, and if you opt to do so, you’ll be rewarded with five Incubator Royale vouchers when logging back in between the 25th and 27th.
