The trailer – which can be seen below – also announces that there will be a closed beta later this year, though a more specific date wasn’t provided. However, if you want to guarantee a spot in the mobile closed beta you can do so by backing Homeworld 3 on Fig, which would set you back $60. Alternatively, you can just register your interest to take part on their official website if you’re not overly fussed but wouldn’t mind getting involved.
The trailer also shows us that there will be a new galaxy to explore with enemies to encounter and battle. Similarly, there will also be races to ally with who will you aid you in battles against the various threats you’ll come across.
There’s also a glimpse at the different customisation options that will be available to players. This looks to include a plethora of weapons you can attach to your ship alongside reinforcements to make it capable of handling bigger hits.
Visually, it certainly looks very impressive and it appears as though you’ll be able to utilise various flanking tactics to take down enemy spacecraft. However, looks aren’t everything and most fans of the series will be interested to know exactly how the game will be monetised, which we’re yet to receive any details on.
There is still no official word on when the game will launch either but since they’re looking to move into closed beta soon, it can’t be too far off. It’s also only been referred to as a mobile game, so we’re still unsure if it’ll arrive for both iOS and Android, but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we learn more.Looking for a strategy game to play whilst you wait?
